Apostle Barnabas

This picturesque church is one of the three main parish churches that serve the neighborhoods of the mountainous community of Agros. It is dedicated to the founder of the Church of Cyprus, the Apostle Barnabas, and is built in a central spot of the village, surrounded by the intense relief of Pitsilia. The structure follows the traditional architectural lines of the area, combining the local stone with wooden details. Owing to its hospitable character and its beautiful location in the mountains, the church is often used for the celebration of weddings and baptisms both by locals and visitors.
