Cave of Saint Lamprianou

This religious monument is a natural cave and ancient place of worship, which is located in the Petridia area of the community of Emba in Paphos. According to tradition, at this spot Saint Lambrianos practised asceticism, while during the first Christian centuries the location was used as a hiding place and catacomb by persecuted faithful. From the interior of the cave water continuously gushes forth that is considered miraculous holy water (agiasma), but today entry to the public is limited for safety reasons.
