Cave of Saint Timona

A little further outside the village of Vasa Koilaniou, following the road to the north, lies the historic cave of the Apostle Timon of Cyprus. It is a very ancient ascetic space that is hewn in the shape of a cross into the rock. The space functions as an underground church-place of pilgrimage where every year, on the commemoration day of the saint in late July, a Divine Liturgy is celebrated for the faithful.
