Chapel of Saint of God Sophia and Saint Irene (Eis archigeion astynomias)

This modern church is located in the surrounding space of the Police Headquarters in Aglantzia and is dedicated to Saint Irene, who is the protector of the Cyprus Police, as well as to the Holy Wisdom of God (Agia Sophia). Its construction began in late 2004 and was completed in early 2006 thanks to voluntary contributions of the members of the Police and the Fire Service, as well as private sponsors. Ecclesiastically it falls under the Holy Archbishopric of Cyprus and the space functions normally, hosting both the official religious ceremonies of the force and various social sacraments.
