Church Agirnkontissa (Ruins)

This church, also known as Panagia Airkotissa, is located in the occupied town of Lapithos in the Kyrenia district. It is a remarkable medieval monument of the area, which took its name from the popular tradition that connects the Panagia with the healing of "aer" (a stroke) or paralysis. After the events of 1974, the church does not operate for the displaced residents and remains inactive, preserving however the long religious history of the community.
