Church of Panagia Deryneias (Genniseos tis theotokou)

This remarkable medieval church is dedicated to the Nativity of the Theotokos and is located in the central area of Deryneia, very close to the church of Saint George. It is a stone-built monument of Byzantine style with a dome, which has been expanded in the past to cover the needs of the faithful. In its interior survive an excellent wood-carved iconostasis of the 18th century and rare portable icons, being one of the most beloved and historic spaces of worship of the community.
