Church of Saint Luke (Ruins)

This historic parish church was erected in the mid-18th century under Archbishop Philotheos, being the core of the eponymous Christian district in old Nicosia. The stone structure incorporates elements of medieval style, such as its gates, which come from an older structure of Gothic style. The church suffered serious damage and plundering during disturbances in 1958, while since 1974 it is under Turkish occupation in the walled occupied city.
