Church of Saints Omologiton

This magnificent church is the focal point of the eponymous historic district of Nicosia. The modern building replaced an older church of the seventeenth century that was demolished owing to the increased needs of the faithful. In the foundations of the church, specifically below the bell tower, survives an ancient carved catacomb that houses the traditional holy spring (agiasma). Owing to its central location and the beautiful environment, the church teems with life and is very often chosen for the celebration of sacraments.
