Ellinorthodoxi Church of Saint George (Ruins)

This church is one of the historic parish churches of occupied Karavas in the Kyrenia district and is known as Saint George of Mezere. It was built in the mid-19th century on the site of an older dissolved monastery, acquiring the form of a three-aisled basilica with a characteristic polygonal dome. After the events of 1974, the structure suffered extensive plundering and was abandoned, while recently it was included in conservation programs to save its structural stability.
