Holy Chapel of Saint Kyriakos

The plain and simple chapel of Saint Kyriakos is a historic ornament for the seaside village of Zygi. Its erection in the mid-1950s by the Pattichis family bears strongly the mark of that era, when the area teemed with workers who were occupied with the trade of the "black gold" of Cyprus, the carobs. Its stone architecture and its serene location make it an ideal refuge for spiritual uplift, but also an extremely popular destination for the celebration of weddings and baptisms with the seaside landscape as a backdrop.
