Holy Chapel of Saint Mamas

This small and picturesque chapel is located in the area of Geri in the Nicosia district and is dedicated to Saint Mamas, the protector of animals and farmers. Its plain construction follows the classical lines of the Cypriot chapels of the countryside, offering a quiet corner space for prayer. The church opens its gates and operates mainly on the day of the annual feast of the Saint, gathering the devout residents of the surrounding area. Owing to its particularly limited interior dimensions, the space is not used for the celebration of weddings or baptisms.
