Holy Church of Holy Forerunner (St John the Baptist)

In the traditional core of the village of Vouni stands the imposing church of the Honourable Forerunner, which is a protected monument. Its construction follows the characteristic type of the single-aisled basilica with thick stone walls and elaborately carved door surrounds at the entrances. Externally, its richly decorated bell tower stands out, while its interior is adorned by important hagiographies that date back to the nineteenth century.
