Holy Church of Panagia Odigitrias

This sloping, stone-built church is located in the heart of Galata, very close to the Klarios river. It was erected in the early 20th century on the site of an older medieval church that had been completely destroyed. Its interior stands out for its austerity and its exceptional acoustics, housing a valuable icon of the Theotokos. Owing to its picturesque location and its traditional character, the church functions normally and is a beautiful choice for the celebration of weddings and baptisms.
