Holy Church of Resurrection of the Saviour

This majestic and modern church rises to the south-east of the old historic core of Sotira, Famagusta, surrounded by recently developed residential neighbourhoods of the area. It is the central spiritual and worship refuge of the community, having been erected on the basis of the classic cross-in-square style with a dome that showcases the Byzantine ecclesiastical tradition. The interior of the church is richly decorated with elaborate modern hagiographies and gold-embellished motifs, while its large exterior forecourt often hosts important national doxologies, community events and religious memorials.
