Holy Church of Saint Elias

A traditional residential church with deep historical importance that is located in the heart of the occupied village of the Famagusta district. The community maintained close bonds with the Monastery of Kantara since the period of Frankish rule, functioning as its official dependency (metochi). Unfortunately, after the events of nineteen seventy-four, the building remains desecrated, ruined, and completely inaccessible for the carrying out of the regular religious duties of its displaced residents. It is a silent monument of the area that carries memories of centuries and the rich ecclesiastical heritage of the Karpasia peninsula.
