Holy Church of Saint Epiphanios

In the village of Doros in the Limassol district is located the historic and ancient church of Saint Epiphanios, which is considered one of the oldest on the island. Its main architectural feature is its impressive gabled wooden roof, whose structure is likened to the skeleton of a warship. Although the church was renovated by the Department of Antiquities, in its interior precious samples of old wall paintings survive under the plaster, as well as icons that date from the sixteenth century.
