Holy Church of Saint George

This is the historic church of the occupied village of Gerani in the Famagusta district. The church served the religious needs of the community until the Turkish invasion of 1974. After the displacement of the permanent residents, the structure was desecrated by the occupation forces and illegally converted into a Muslim mosque. Owing to this situation, the carrying out of Christian sacraments or of any free service is completely impossible.
