Holy Church of Saint George

This magnificent church is the patron and the central religious landmark of the occupied community. It was built in the mid-nineteenth century upon the remnants of an older medieval structure, preserving to this day a historic western gate of Gothic style. After the events of nineteen seventy-four, the building remained for decades without any care, while now the attendance of the displaced faithful for group services is rarely permitted and only following special authorization.
