Holy Cross

This very old church is the oldest religious monument of the mountain community and is built very close to the central square, within a beautiful botanical garden. It is a small single-aisled basilica of the Frankish period, which is roofed with the characteristic wooden pointed roof of the Troodos churches and has masonry of irregular stones of Madari. The interior of the church today functions as an exhibition ecclesiastical space, housing valuable icons and important wall paintings that are precisely dated from the year 1521.
