Holy Monastery of Panagia Galaktotrofousas

In the Larnaca district, at a short distance from the community of Kofinou, is hidden a plain women's monastery, dedicated to Panagia the Galaktotrophousa. This monastery, which follows the old festal calendar, houses a small brotherhood of nuns. Its central church follows the classical Byzantine style with a dome and is surrounded by humble cells. Although it is not widely known to the public nor does it have the grandeur of other large monasteries of the island, it is a spiritual lung of serenity, while it also carries its own modern historical memory.
