Holy Monastery of Saint George Komanon

This historic monastery is built in an isolated location on the western bank of the Diarizos River, very close to the community of Mesana of Paphos. From the original building complex of the monastery today survives only the small, single-aisled vaulted church, which was founded at the end of the 15th century by refugee monks from Constantinople. In the interior of the structure are preserved precious samples of wall paintings that date around 1600, combining the classical Byzantine style with elements of the local popular wall painting.
