Holy Monastery of Saint John of Lampadistou

The emblematic monastic complex of Saint John Lampadistis in Kalopanagiotis is a UNESCO World Heritage Monument. It is a unique architectural cluster of three churches under an enormous, common wooden roof: of Saint Herakleidios, of Saint John, and the Latin chapel. In its interior are kept wall paintings of priceless value that cover a period from the 11th to the 15th century, as well as the skull of the eponymous miracle-working Saint.
