Mikro Small Church of Saint Barbara

This is the original, smaller shrine that was built immediately after the Turkish invasion to serve the immediate religious needs of the displaced in the refugee settlement of Paralimni. Its structure began as a simple, single-aisled basilica with a saddle roof, while in the course of time it was extended with the addition of a second aisle on its southern side to hold more faithful. Today, this contemplative little church is located in the same courtyard, right next to the newer and much larger church of the same name, keeping its historical and emotional value intact.
