Monastery Kantaras (Ruins)

This important medieval monastery, known as Panagia of Kantara, lies nestled on the lush green slopes of Pentadaktylos near the castle of the same name. The church preserves an impressive dome and is connected with the sacrifice of the 13 Holy Martyrs of Kantara during the Frankish period. After the events of 1974, the historic complex remains inaccessible for the free conduct of sacraments, being a silent symbol of spiritual and historical heritage.
