Monastery of Saint Joseph

This is an emblematic Catholic monastic complex of Larnaca, which was founded in the mid-19th century by French nuns of the Order of Saint Joseph of the Apparition. This historic monastery stands out for its elegant Latin architecture and played a decisive role in the social development of the town, as within its premises operated the first hospital, the first pharmacy, as well as the famous School of Nuns. Today the complex is a serene spiritual space and a great architectural jewel that attests to the long humanitarian and educational contribution of the Catholic sisters on the island.
