Panagia Kyra

This picturesque chapel is located just outside the community of Louvaras, at the foot of the Kakomallis state forest. It is a small, stone-built edifice of Byzantine style, which bears a characteristic wooden sloping roof and is surrounded by an ancient plane tree in its courtyard. Folk tradition connects the location with an old medieval settlement of the Knights of Saint John, while the structure was fully restored in the early 2000s by the Department of Antiquities.
