Panagia Lampadiotissa

To the north-west of the settlement, on the slope of a hill, are found the ruins of an important medieval church that belonged to an old Byzantine settlement. Its exterior stone walls survive today at a low height, betraying its single-aisled structure and the cylindrical pilasters that once supported the central dome. At the site, fragments of its original hagiographic decoration have been found. Owing to its condition, the monument functions mainly as an archaeological and historic place of pilgrimage, while at a short distance a newer chapel of the same name has been erected.
