Panagia of Tyflou

This isolated Byzantine country chapel is known as Panagia tou Vlou or tou Flou and is located on the Akamas peninsula, at a distance of 16 kilometres from Ineia. The small single-aisled and vaulted church is built upon the ruins of an older monastery and offers a panoramic view towards the sea. Inside it is kept a folk-art icon with the inscription 'of the Blind Man', which is directly connected with its local name. Owing to its inaccessible location, it is mainly a quiet station for hikers and pilgrims who explore the nature of Akamas.
