Proin Church of Saint Nicholas Chrysochous

This building originally functioned as an Orthodox church dedicated to Saint Nicholas in the community of Chrysochou in Paphos. During the Turkish occupation period the edifice was converted into a Muslim mosque for the needs of the then inhabitants, while the minaret that had been added was later demolished owing to an earthquake. Nowadays the restored monument preserves inside it visible elements from its old Christian structure and the sanctuary, being an important historic and cultural sight of the area.
