Prophet Elias

This emblematic and stone-built country chapel rises imposingly upon a precipitous natural rock a hundred metres high, being one of the most famous landmarks of the area. To reach its entrance the ascent of more than one hundred and fifty stone steps is required, with the panoramic view of the coastline from the top fully rewarding the visitor. Its exterior space is full of trees where the faithful customarily tie colourful ribbons as votive offerings, while its privileged location makes it exceptionally popular for the celebration of sacraments with the boundless blue as a backdrop.
