Saint Andronikos

This extremely important medieval church is located in Poli Chrysochous of Paphos and is dedicated to Saints Andronikos and Athanasia. During the period of Ottoman rule it was converted into a Muslim mosque, a fact that led to the covering of its important 16th-century Byzantine wall paintings with plaster, protecting them however from the wear of time. Today, this restored stone monument functions as a protected cultural and historic site, revealing the rich religious heritage of the area.
