Saint George Ftelias

This small and isolated chapel is built in the rural periphery of the almost abandoned village of Pitargou in the Paphos district, bearing the appellation Ftelias. The church follows the very simple, plain lines of traditional Cypriot church building and is fully integrated into the natural landscape of the area. Owing to its limited interior space and its remote location, it functions mainly as a quiet station for individual prayer and the lighting of candles by passers-by.
