Saint George Teratsiotis

This unique, stone-built Byzantine church belongs to the single-aisled type with an octagonal dome and is surrounded by centuries-old carob trees. In its interior survive, although largely worn, rare medieval wall paintings that testify to its artistic past. The name "Teratsiotis" is inextricably connected with the local tradition and the carob trees (teratsies) of the area, while the space borders an extensive ancient necropolis.
