Saint George

The picturesque seaside chapel of Saint George is built on the Alyki coast of Chloraka in the Paphos district. It was erected in the early 1960s at the expense of the great benefactor Zena Canther, marking the historic spot where George Grivas Digenis secretly disembarked for the start of the liberation struggle. Today the church is an integral part of a wider monumental space and museum, while owing to its idyllic view of the Mediterranean it is an extremely popular destination for the celebration of weddings.
