Saint George

This very distinctive and small chapel is built on the boundaries of the community, on the road that connects Galata with Kakopetria. It presents a unique particularity as it has an orientation from north to south, something that is attributed historically to the fact that it was built during the winter. Its masonry combines rough stones with mud in the lower layers and mud bricks at the higher points, while it is protected by a traditional wooden roof. Owing to its extremely small size, the church functions mainly as a quiet historic monument of the Solea valley and is not available for sacraments.
