Saint George

This historic medieval chapel is located to the east of the community of Lysos in the Paphos district, hidden within the dense forest vegetation of the mountainous area toward Kinousa. Its erection dates back to the 13th century and, owing to its enormous archaeological significance, it is under the protection and supervision of the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus. In its interior survive rare, old wall paintings that depict Saint Mamas, offering an environment of unique historical devotion for the few pilgrims.
