Saint Irene Chrysovalantou

This beautiful and picturesque chapel is located about one kilometer north of the community of Frenaros, set in a quiet rural area. The present church was built entirely in 2007 at the expense of the church and with contributions of the faithful, taking the place of a much older and worn small chapel that did not withstand the passage of time and was demolished. Architecturally it follows the traditional style of the area with a carefully made exterior stone facing, having a beautiful surrounding green space that is known as the garden of the Saint. Every year at the end of July, the chapel gathers crowds of pilgrims from the entire free Famagusta district, who flock to honor the memory of the Saint.
