Saint Panteleimon (Ruins)

This church is the katholikon of the historic monastic complex of Saint Panteleimon in occupied Myrtou of the Kyrenia district. Before it was converted into a monastery, there was on the spot a smaller parish church which was demolished for the erection of the present double-aisled basilica. After the Turkish invasion of 1974, the space was savagely plundered and used as a military camp, while recently large-scale conservation works were completed to save its structure from collapse.
