Small Church of Panagia Glykofilousas Skali

This historic little church, also known as Panagia of Skali or Panagia the Theotokos, is a medieval structure in the old neighborhood of Aglantzia. Originally it had been formed as a small church dug directly into the natural rock by the residents of the Byzantine settlement. In the early 20th century the present stone-built structure was built at the base of the rock, while in 1995 extensive renovation works were carried out for the preservation of the monument. Today, the space is located next to the "Skali" cultural center and functions as a distinctive religious and historic destination.
