Small Church of Saint George Ftochou

This very small and plain little church is located on the geographical boundaries of the wider area of Ypsonas and Alassa, built with the traditional local stone. It is an extremely humble pilgrimage site that is closely connected with popular piety, as its name evokes the Saint who protects and hears the economically weak. Owing to its extremely limited dimensions and the lack of the necessary infrastructure, the space functions mainly for individual prayer and the lighting of a candle, making the carrying out of official sacraments impossible.
