Throne of Panagia

This impressive religious and national monument is built upon one of the highest mountaintops of Troodos, very close to the historic Monastery of Kykkos. In the wider arranged space dominates a modern church with a circular shape and large mosaics, while at a short distance is located the tomb and the imposing statue of Archbishop Makarios III. The location is directly connected with old religious traditions, as there the monks transported the holy icon of the Panagia of the Rain in periods of intense drought.
