Transfiguration of the Saviour

This historic church is one of the main churches of the community of Kissonerga in the Paphos district and is dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Saviour. Its construction was completed in the late 19th century, specifically in 1887, while its official inauguration was held several years later, in 1952. It is a beautiful stone edifice that keeps the traditional architecture of the area intact and is served spiritually by the priest of the neighbouring church of Saint Konon. The community gathers there to celebrate festively the great Lord's feast of the Transfiguration every year on 6 August.
