Xokklisia of Saint James and of Christ

This medieval monument is located near the community of Ineia in Paphos and is a unique architectural complex by Cypriot standards. It consists of two vertically built and joined shrines, of Saint James and of Jesus Christ (or Saint Agapios), with their sanctuaries placed one right next to the other. Inside the churches, visible historic remnants of old wall paintings are preserved that attest to their long religious course. Owing to its uniqueness and its extremely limited space, it functions exclusively as a protected sight of religious heritage for hikers and pilgrims.
